"I joined Statton furniture in 1964. In my first few months I worked in various positions. Shortly thereafter I was assigned to a cabinetmaker position. Quality was stressed from day one. My primary job is to build dining tables, coffee tables, end tables, nightstands, and custom order conference tables among other patterns. If you have purchased one of the above pieces within the last 40 years, it is very likely I built it. It takes many skilled workers to produce the parts that go into a piece of furniture. These parts come together in the cabinet room assembled by a cabinetmaker resulting in some of the best quality furniture in America. Here it is nearly 40 years later and I still build each piece as if I was purchasing it for my family."

"I was recommended for employment in 1968 by my great uncle, Albert Smith, who worked at Statton Furniture Manufacturing Company for forty-five years. I started in the parts department as a part handler and worked in that department for nine years. I am now an inspector and have held this position for twenty-seven years. My motto is 'to keep quality up'. I have been a Statton employee for thirty-six years."

"My name is Eugene, to my co-workers I'm Genie; to my two daughters I'm daddy; to my two boys I'm Pappy. My wife calls me Gene. Having been born during the great depression into a large family, it wasn't uncommon to go to work at an early age. I started to work for Statton Furniture one month after I turned 16 where my father was employed, as did my three brothers and a nephew. Members of my family have worked a combined 180 years for Statton Furniture. My first 4 or 5 years were spent as a parts handler, sanding machine operator and doing clamp work. Later I was asked to work along side my brother who taught me the trade of cabinetmaker at which I have worked approximately 30 years. I also worked as a millwright, utility repairman, and inspector. I take pride in the fact that in 2006 I will have worked for this company for 50 years. I am also proud of being a part of a company that has enhanced so many homes with furniture of endurance and beauty."

"I started at Statton Furniture the day after high school graduation. I also attended the local Vo-Tech school taking classes in carpentry and cabinetry. I have worked for Statton's the past 31 years, being a cabinetmaker for 30 of those years. I believe I was destined for this job since childhood. At the age of 5 or 6 I received my first toolbox. From those first crude birdhouses to today's complex custom pieces, I always receive a great deal of satisfaction upon completing anything I build. Being a woodworker, my working here in the high-end furniture industry is a dream job."

"A few fellows that worked for Statton Furniture came into the gas station that I worked at while I was in school and told me about the company. I started working at Statton October 3, 1974. I started out as a lugger and later a table builder. At present, I am a cabinetmaker and my number is 77. I have always enjoyed working with wood and seeing the finished product. I enjoy my work and working with the other fellows in the cabinet room. The furniture that we make is bench-made, not made on an assembly line. We take a lot of pride in our furniture being hand made.

I am married with two children and two grand children. I am involved with out-reach ministries of our church. My wife and myself run a soup kitchen every Thursday, take a mission trip to the Appalachians every summer to help repair homes and coordinate our churches week at the cold weather shelter. Our Spare time is filled with 'having fun' with the grand children."

"I started working at Statton Furniture in November 1979 and currently live in Gettysburg, PA with my wife and two children. When I was hired I began working in the mill room running the molder machine. In 1988 I moved to the cabinet room where I have been assembling furniture ever since. I am third generation in my family to work in the cabinet room for Statton Furniture. Working with my hands has always been something I've enjoyed and Statton's has afforded me the opportunity to learn a trade building furniture and working with various tools. I have been with the company for 25 years."

"I have been with Statton Furniture Manufacturing Company for twenty-one years. I have worked in the cabinet room, finishing room and other areas within the plant. I have stayed with Statton because there is so much pride, quality and craftsmanship that are put into each piece of furniture that is produced by the cabinetmakers. All Statton employees have the same pride and skill that make it necessary to produce a far superior furniture than any other company that is in the nation or abroad."

"I started employment at Statton Furniture in October 1983 just after my 18th birthday. I started as a parts handler in the drawer area and then went on to build drawers. I also held the positions of lugger and chair cleaner. At present, I clean beds, assist with inspections
and repairs. My primary and most important position is that of cabinet builder. I have held the position of a cabinet builder for the past 19 years.

One of the most important things to me is the quality and pride that goes into each piece of Statton Furniture I build. The quality and craftsmanship guarantees our furniture will be around for the future generations to enjoy. I hope you enjoy your selection of Statton
Furniture that has been crafted with pride in the USA."

"I have worked at Statton Furniture for 20 years. I became a cabinetmaker because to me, that is the most prestigious job in the company. It gives me a challenge to live up to and a sense of accomplishment when a piece is finished. I am proud to build furniture that I know will withstand history and will be able to be passed down through the generations. My great grandchildren will be able to keep a piece of their background and history without fear it will crumble to pieces over time.

I am married to my wife Barbara and we have three children, Tracy, Wendy and Ashly with a grandson on the way. I have two Labs Bailey and Zoey who we all like to play with. I like to grill out, golf, surf the computer and bowl. I have previously worked with three different U.S. Presidents, the former and current Bush's and Carter to drill and provide bowling equipment. I was a former PBA bowler with numerous honor scores including 26 perfect three hundred games and 7 eight hundred series."
