Subassembly Work

Meet Sonny. Sonny has been with us for 43 years and specializes in handwork. He builds our fretted doors after they have been carefully mitered and coped in the Machine Department. He also builds units within units, such as our desk assembly for our secretaries. Many of our tops require carved corners. Sonny finishes these carvings and blends them to achieve the balanced and beautiful look we require. Here, as in almost all other areas of Statton, "fit" is crucial to a successful job.

Cabinet Maker

Meet Gene. Gene has been with us for 50 years. At Statton our product is benchmade. Each cabinet maker works on individual pieces and is responsible for the look and the fit of the pattern as a whole. As precisely as the parts are machined, there are still imperfections that must be adjusted. Gene must fit drawers precisely and then number them individually. He must adjust and fit doors and hinges. Margins between frames and cases must be even. The whole piece must then be sanded to the proper grit level, usually 180 or 220.

Cabinet Maker

Meet Ryan. Ryan has been with us for 28 years. Ryan is a cabinetmaker but, like most of our employees, Ryan has experience in other areas of the plant. In Ryan's case, he has worked on the machine floor and specialized in the moulder. This gives him knowledge of what can and cannot be expected from our machine operations. He can advise on what margins are needed on frames, to what thickness the piece needs to be sanded, whether the mould is properly mitered. This ability to communicate with each other helps the plant maintain it's consistently high level of quality.

A quote from Eddie "I always receive a great deal of satisfaction upon completing anything I build. Being a woodworker, my working here in the high-end furniture industry is a dream job" .

Our Signature

Meet William. William has been with us for 33 years. At Statton our product is benchmade. Each cabinet maker works on individual pieces and is responsible for the look and the fit of the pattern as a whole. Each piece of furniture is personally signed by the Cabinet Maker that builds it. Photo shows William signing his authenticity.

Cabinet Inspection

Cabinet Inspection

Meet Gene. Gene has been with us for 50 years. Gene inspects each piece as it is completed by the cabinet maker. He examines the piece for all of our quality points: quality of sanding, quality of fit, the overall look of the piece, consistency between cabinet makers, and many other factors. He advises the cabinet makers and works with the finishing room to make sure they are receiving the best product possible.
