In, 2000, I purchased a Statton Furniture Open Hutch made in 1947. I am now updating this piece with tongue and groove pine on the back panel of the hutch. I am also using antique black paint to refinish the rest of the piece. What I wanted to tell you is that this piece is as solid as the day it was made. The doors and drawers are still in fine working condition. I have the original sales receipt from this piece that the original owners left in the drawer. I am thrilled with this piece as I am sure the original owners were back in 1947.

| All I can say is "wow" |
|
Mr. Statton,
I received the desk today. All I can say is "wow". It was well worth the wait. The attention to detail is fabulous (even the leather top openings are beveled on the edges; you guys thought of everything!).
The credenza, the desk and the bow front chest are much nicer looking in person than the pictures can convey. All I can say is all of the furniture was well worth the money. It's so refreshing to see someone in this country can produce products that have such attention to detail, and not built to the lowest (i.e. Walmart) standards. I've got to get the e-mail address of each of the craftsmen that built these pieces off the drawer tags and send them a note about how much we love their workmanship.

| 25 pieces and counting! Do you have a casual line? |
|
Dear Statton Furniture,
I have been extremely fortunate to purchase over 25 pieces of Statton furniture during the past 30 years. I was 24 years old when I first made the wise decision to buy Statton Furniture as I recognized that you should buy the very best you can find and it will remain outstanding in appearance. Several of my favorites are the pieces that were made in 1976 as bicentennial editions. Each piece is as beautiful as it was when I selected it for my homes. I recall that at one time Statton featured a group that may have been called Salem. The collection was a casual dining group. I used antiques as my kitchen dining set for years but have always wished that I had purchased a Statton casual group for everyday use.
I am ready to replace the badly worn antiques and feel that the formal dining groups like the Statton dining group I use in the dining room will be a little much for the kitchen area. I can't feature teens snacking at our house seated around a beautiful formal dining room table. I have been very disappointed as I purchase another brand of casement pieces for a family room as recommended by a decorator when I visited Highpoint last spring. I do not want to make another mistake. No other furniture compares to Statton!
My question is... Do you have a suggestion of a group to use in a large open area country style kitchen with a large work island and fireplace? I was not pleased with the brand Nichols and Stone that I purchased for the upstairs TV room. That area of the house is used by a teenager and so I do not spend a lot of time in the room but the kitchen is often the center of activity in our home. I have not seen a casual dining group in your catalogs recently. Is one available? Are there plans for production of this type of group? I'll wait !!
Sincerely, Marilyn Freeman
Marilyn, Why yes, we just introduced our Piedmont Collection, which is a nice alternative to our formal collection. It can be viewed here:
http://www.statton.com/Collection_Cat.php?ID=17
We hand-plane all the surfaces and bring the sheen down to a low 10%. The coloring is a honey brown color with golden highlights. You can get any of our pieces in the line in any color and any level of distress. For example, if you want the more rustic look (like the Piedmont) but like a darker stain, we can lower the sheen and distress the item like Piedmont and use one of the six standard stains in the line for coloring. It is a small up-charge to do this but we can do it with any item in the line.
We are more customized these days and we can pretty much do just about anything when it comes to finish and distressing. We can even pickle or paint pieces! Thank you for supporting American Manufacturing and us for so many years! It is customers like you who keep us alive and well!
Best,
Jessica Statton

| Silver Chest Winner Response |
|
To: The Statton Owners and Craftsmen, I am so excited about winning the Statton Silver Chest! I have been such a fan of Statton for almost 30 years now. The first piece I ever saw was the high boy when I was newly married in a small town in PA called Quakertown. I would repeatedly go to the furniture store and just touch it and admire it. Back then when I was in my early 20's, I would think to myself that someday I hoped to save enough money to purchase a piece of Statton furniture. Over the years looking at fine furniture had become my hobby when I wasn't teaching elementary school. I collected catalogs and visited any furniture store I could no matter what state I was in. The quality of the craftsmanship in Statton always stood out over so many other furniture brands. Yes, I now own Statton pieces, and yes, I still run my hand over them and still touch them. I am always in awe of their beauty. I have told many people about Statton and consider myself so lucky and fortunate to have won this chest. Recently, I have seen many furniture stores selling high quality traditional furniture close and I was so worried what would happen to Statton. I am thrilled that you are still producing such high quality heirlooms. I would like to thank you so much for continuing something that is so rare these days, pride in workmanship. To those of you who work so hard each day constructing such beautiful pieces, please know your talent, patience and skill are highly valued, treasured and deeply appreciated by those of us who are collectors. Thank you again. I look forward to the arrival of my silver chest with much anticipation. Mary Lou Vasey

| Thank you all for upholding this wonderful tradition of quality, caring, and craftsmanship. |

Dear Statton Furniture Manufacturing Family, My husband and I have just received our delivery from Jarrettsville Furniture of a new model 2104 Sheraton Pedestal Extension Dining Table and two model 6084 Towson Country Work Tables. They are just works of art. I've been dealing with your company since 1972 and you're presently making a model 2749L Pickering corner cabinet that I expect to receive from Jarrettsville furniture in December. That corner cupboard will be a mate in my new house's dining room to the one I purchased from Colony House Furniture in Richmond, VA in 1974. The finishes on the new pieces blend beautifully with those on the older pieces. I know that it's tough to do business in today's climate where people seem to be satisfied with the lowest price and surface good looks. My husband and I ascribe to the philosophy that we'd rather have a few really fine things of wonderful quality and workmanship rather than a whole lot of junk and cheap imitations. I just want you to know that what you're doing there in Hagerstown is recognized and appreciated. One can tell from your website and the biographies of your employees that each employee takes justifiable pride in what you do and are true artists in your craft. Thank you all for upholding this wonderful tradition of quality, caring, and craftsmanship. Sincerely, Myrna Bein Gambrills, MD

| Why I chose Statton... |
|
Just wanted to let you know why I chose Statton--we have a home in Western Pennsylvania that we furnished with antiques--including all of the beds--which are poster beds.
We have purchased a second home in Naples, FL and I couldn't be without a poster bed in the master bedroom--Statton was the only one I would consider as I know that it will hold its value and become a family heirloom--thanks for the quality and care that goes into the production of these beds--I look forward to receiving it!

| A fine product and fine personnel... |
|
Dear Sir or Madam: I had the opportunity to stop by your warehouse sale this past weekend (and purchase a beautiful mirror as well). While the quality and artistry of your work are evident in every piece, I was even more impressed by your personnel. It was like getting to visit a big family home--the people obviously care about their work, they are proud of what they do, and they enjoy showing it; it was a privilege to be able to browse and admire their workmanship. I wish there were more companies nowadays with those ingredients--a fine product and fine personnel. Best Wishes for many years of continued success! Sincerely, D Miller

| Please keep producing such beautiful, future heirlooms... |
|
To The Statton Company,
Years ago, I sold furniture in N.J., where most people came in to buy Pennsylvania House. I went against stores policy, and showed people the difference between mass produced, low-to middle of the road furniture, and yours. This confused people at first, but once they saw, and felt the difference, there was no more confusion. They bought Statton, with the knowledge that future generations would inherit trully fine, quality pieces. My favorite piece is the Trotter tilt top table, which sits proudly in my living room for over 20 years. (the top rim is carved out of thicker wood, rather then applied), just as it was built a century ago. The finish is wonderful. I don't work in retail anymore...haven't since 1976. I am a painting, papering cortractor. It is just my partner, and myself in the business since 1978, and we take as much pride in our finishes as you do. Please keep producing such beautiful, future heirlooms.
Thank you,
Joseph Cacciatore Naples, FL

| Your product is extraordinary! |
|
Dear Mr. Statton, I just felt compelled to send you and all the fine folks of your Statton Furniture Family this note. I'm woodworking hobbyist, and jeweler by trade. I pride myself with having a "eye for quality". Your product is extraordinary. The quality and care you put into every piece of furniture is unparalleled and it is very evident that everyone that works at Statton Furniture takes great pride in what they do. Whether you realize it or not, that is not a very common attribute in any form of manufacturing or business today...

| My dream came true.... |
|
I absolutely LOVE my statton dining room set - that is the one set of furniture that I will take if we move south - we live in NY now but are thinking of retiring to the Carolina's. I want to pass this dining room set down from generation to generation. I have 10 chairs - the server - a table and a small side table that has 4 drawers - also the breakfront that is magnificent - it is done in a dark cherry. I have a credenza of my Mom's that needs to be refinished - do you know of anyone in the New York area that I could use to make it look like my statton set? I want to applaud your family for producing magnificent furniture and all the people that make that happen. I had my heart set on an Ethan Allen set and changed my mind once I saw this statton set. I turned to my husband and said I am going to own that one day and my dream came true. It has been in my home for the past 15 years and is in a room with a huge paladian window which shows how magnificent it really is. Thanks again Regards Joan Dentato

| Amazing WEBSITE! |
|
I just wanted to say that I think the improvements on the Statton web site are excellent and really hold your attention. I serve on the customer focus team at Hagerstown Paint and Glass and there are two areas that parallel to my years spent with Statton. They are that when attention to quality is maintained customers note and appreciate it even though it may go unsaid. Secondly, COMMUNICATION is the largest stumbling block everywhere I have been with regard to making improvements in efficiency and change to better service the customer. I am glad to see that you are continuing to respond to the changing customer requirements. Congratulations and continuing best of luck with the future business challenges.
Best regards, Ron Shoop
